Workshop Pricing

I am offering a tiered pricing structure for the workshop. In addition to the early-bird discounts, there is a lower price if you are paying without using institutional funding. And if you enroll by April 1st, then there are additional discounts available if needed.

You can pay in one installment or two. If you plan to use institutional funding for just part of the workshop fee, please get in touch for customized pricing. Finally, if you’re in Japan and the workshop is difficult to afford because of the exchange rate, I can give you an additional 10% discount beyond what is listed below.

A note on pricing:

I don’t know of any other book workshop for academics that provides the level of individualized support and personalized attention that my workshop offers or the different kinds of support that I’ve woven in (editorial support as you do difficult “big-picture thinking” work, writing process support, and guidance on important aspects of the revision and publishing process). Even at $1280 or $1360 (the two “full” early-bird rates for those paying with institutional funds), the workshop provides excellent value.

For context around pricing, since many of you may have never worked with a developmental editor:

Even the highest of the workshop fees ($1600, which you would only pay if you registered at the last-minute and you were paying with institutional funds) is less expensive than my most bare-bones one-on-one editorial service for full books (my Basic Developmental Edit, which costs $1820). And, I think, the workshop actually offers even greater value than the Basic Developmental Edit (as long as you do the assigned exercises and engage with the workshop!).

Workshop pricing if you submit your registration form by April 1st:

  • With institutional funding:

    • $1280: early-bird fee

    • $1040: discounted early-bird fee (if a lower fee would make it feel feasible for you to join the workshop)

    • $800: steeply discounted early-bird price (if the normal discounted fee would be difficult, but a steeper discount would make it feasible for you to join the workshop)

  • Without institutional funding:

    • $960: early-bird fee

    • $780: discounted early-bird fee (if a lower fee would make it feel feasible for you to join the workshop)

    • $600: steeply discounted early-bird price (if the normal discounted fee would be difficult, but a steeper discount would make it feasible for you to join the workshop)

Workshop pricing if you submit your registration form from April 1st–April 30th:

  • With institutional funding:

    • $1360 early-bird fee

  • Without institutional funding:

    • $1020 early-bird fee

Workshop pricing if you register after April 30th:

  • With institutional funding:

    • $1600 standard fee

  • Without institutional funding:

    • $1200 standard fee

“Add-on” of enrollment in the Support & Accountability Community:

Finally, if you enroll in the Support & Accountability Communityas an “add-on” to Crafting Your Scholarly Book, I’ll give you a 10% discount on your enrollment (for any of the “sliding pricing” tiers for the Community).
