Book Mapping Session
I draw in these sessions on the brilliant method developed in Katelyn Knox and Allison Van Deventer’s Dissertation-to-Book Workbook. We will collaboratively work through a series of questions to clarify your “book questions” and “chapter answers,” and then we’ll think through the stakes of your claims. We will use the “book questions, chapter answers” framework to make sure that your book’s broad arguments reflect your micro-level analyses. Using this framework, we’ll talk through how each of your chapters can contribute to your central thesis while making its own distinct claim.
This intensive session is an efficient way to work on the “big picture” elements of your book, and can put you on the path to crafting a book that feels focused and cohesive. I call this service a “book mapping session” because we trace the ways that your “book questions” play out across each of your book’s chapters.
